What is Reiki? How Can It Improve Your Overall Well-Being?
Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle technique often referred to as "energy healing", used for stress reduction and relaxation that harnesses the body's ability to promote healing. Originating in Japan, by Mikao Usui, it is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through the whole body and auric field when directed by a practitioner.
"Rei" = Higher Power or God's wisdom | "Ki" - life force energy
Reiki could be considered along side holistic medicine as it is a form of healing that encompasses the whole person -- body, mind, spirit, and emotions -- in the quest for optimal health and wellness. It involves integrating conventional and alternative therapies to prevent and treat disease, and most importantly, to promote optimal health.
